Do you dream throughout the entire night? Or do you sometimes experience a dream that stands out as more vivid and powerful than the rest? Have you ever felt like your dreams are trying to communicate a message, leading you in a certain direction?

Each night, I dream and usually recall some of them in the morning or later in the day. Occasionally, I experience dreams with such intensity that I cannot rid myself of the belief that they hold a message for me. Consequently, in recent years, I have been more committed to deciphering their significance.
Being part of a meditation group with my friend Sigrún Gunnarsdóttir, a healer and medium, has been very beneficial for me. Sigrún is the author of The Language of Dreams, a book released earlier this year, in which she delves into the meaning of dreams and provides insights on how to interpret them effectively.
She believes that dreams serve as a portal to the unknown, with the potential for dual interpretations. On one level, dreams reflect our everyday experiences, while on another level, they offer spiritual guidance by revealing our life's direction.
Although our dreams may appear nonsensical at first, upon closer examination, I found that they are not. According to The Language of Dreams, dreams are essentially a symbolic language based on imagery.
Within every dream, there exist dream symbols such as numbers, colours, individuals, objects, and occurrences—essentially, anything that stands out. By dedicating more time to analyzing and deciphering my dreams, I can more easily identify these dream symbols and comprehend their significance.
Two dream symbols that I frequently dream about and understand their meanings are flying and having children. While I have dreamt of flying to foreign countries multiple times, I am aware that dreaming about being on my way to a flight doesn't always signify travelling abroad. On the other hand, despite never experiencing childbirth or pregnancy, I have had numerous dreams of being pregnant.
In my interpretation, both of these dream symbols suggest that there are upcoming changes in my life. Dreaming about the arrival of a child, for instance, is a clear sign that something new is about to enter one's life. This new element could be a child, but it might also represent a new job or home, among other possibilities.
Interpreting dreams becomes more challenging because dream symbols may hold different meanings for each individual. The type of symbols that convey messages in our dreams is unique to each person, as they are based on our personal experiences. Our subconscious draws upon all our past experiences to communicate with us through these symbols.
Understanding our dreams is not impossible, but rather, we must invest time in familiarizing ourselves with our personal dream symbols. Dreams communicate through a specific symbolic language, one based on imagery, and it's essential to analyze these symbols and their interpretations to grasp the dream's message.
For those curious about delving deeper into their dreams, I suggest checking out the book Dreams: Night's Answers to Tomorrow's Questions. This book delves into the life philosophy of Edgar Cayce, a highly regarded seer from history. Exploring such resources can offer valuable insights into understanding your dreams more effectively.
