Working as a medium

There is a wide variety of mediums, with some being clairvoyant from a young age, while others only start experiencing supernatural phenomena in adulthood.

Some individuals take years, even decades, to develop such abilities, while others experience a sudden opening of these skills. Regardless of the pace, individuals with sensitivity must undergo years of training to enhance and cultivate their abilities. Therefore, it is incorrect to assume that individuals are either naturally clairvoyant or not.
Many sensitive individuals choose to keep their sensitivity to themselves and are not inclined to turn it into a profession. While Icelanders may be more receptive to spiritual topics compared to other nations, being willing to discuss dreams and intuition, it still requires bravery for individuals to venture beyond their comfort zone and acknowledge their uniqueness. There are numerous people who opt not to showcase their psychic abilities, a fact that is often underestimated by the public.
Being a medium is not considered particularly glamorous. Mediums must embrace their differences from the majority and engage in work that most people doubt its authenticity. Often, they have faced challenges in their own lives, allowing them to empathize with others and offer assistance to those in need.
It wasn't until I reached adulthood that I realized my sensitivity. Even though I've been aware of my talents in these fields for a decade, I still struggle to openly identify as a medium and healer, let alone practice as one. This reluctance stems from my ongoing journey to fully embrace these gifts, as I continue to come to terms with my inherent nature and the spiritual path that defines my existence.
I am not the only one in this situation. In the last ten years, I have enrolled in multiple spiritual classes and engaged in meditation and growth gatherings, where I have encountered numerous individuals with sensitivities. Each person I have come across and collaborated with has experienced uncertainties regarding themselves and their capabilities. Possessing clairvoyance is one matter while being prepared to utilize that skill is another.
Deciding to work publicly as a medium is a significant and impactful choice for an individual. It involves leaving behind a conventional way of life to embrace an unknown and uncertain existence. This individual must be willing to openly share their experiences, regardless of others' opinions. Achieving this level of readiness typically demands extensive effort and readiness, irrespective of one's background.
I never planned to delve into spiritual matters, and have therefore been avoiding it for quite some time. However, I cannot deny the strong attraction this unfamiliar realm exerts on me. The idea of there being something beyond, a purpose or a path guiding me forward, brings a sense of comfort. Engaging in spiritual practices like meditation, mindfulness, reading spiritual texts, or seeking guidance from a spiritual mentor here on earth, makes me feel truly at ease. Nothing compares to that feeling of belonging.
