Dangers in the spiritual world

This week, I viewed an investigative episode that revealed deception and violence in the spiritual community.

This discussion is crucial because there is currently a lack of regulation in this area, allowing individuals to present themselves as spiritual guides and provide guidance, activities, or courses without any oversight. Consequently, this unregulated environment can draw in individuals who lack the necessary skills to guide others and well-intentioned individuals who may inadvertently harm others.
Due to the lack of regulations in spirituality and alternative medicine, individuals must choose their practitioners and confidants wisely. Although I have been fortunate not to encounter any major issues in this regard (except for one incident), there have been instances where I found myself in uncomfortable situations or with individuals whose practices I did not align with. In such cases, I made the decision to distance myself.
Luckily, I have consistently relied on my intuition and introspection when seeking assistance from individuals or participating in various events or courses. On several occasions, I have realized that these individuals were not suitable spiritual mentors for me. This realization typically stemmed from their lack of self-awareness, as they often failed to address their own areas of improvement.
During a mediumship course I attended, we were advised against questioning the messages we received from the spiritual realm. I found this approach unhelpful because it's only natural to be critical when starting to develop one's abilities in this field. I believe it's important to reflect on the information received and allow oneself the time to adapt to the idea that reality may differ from what we have been taught and experienced.
Whenever I hear individuals stating that they believe they have completed most of their personal growth journey or asserting that their current life is their final one on earth, I always take a moment to reflect. In my view, personal development is an ongoing process, even if it becomes more manageable over time, as life constantly presents new chances for further advancement. The idea of having fully grasped all of life's lessons is concerning.
It is common to encounter certain pitfalls as part of a spiritual journey, a challenge I am familiar with. For instance, I have been guilty of believing that I am unique and so special that people would not be able to comprehend me, and felt superior to those around me due to my progress. While this is a natural progression, individuals who transition to teaching and mentoring roles must have experienced these pitfalls themselves and gone beyond them in order to assist others effectively on their path.
The positive aspect of this episode and the conversation surrounding it is that it does not discourage people from being interested in spiritual matters or engaging in alternative medicine. It simply serves as a reminder that there are potential risks in these areas that should be taken into consideration. Nonetheless, it is important to acknowledge that there are many kind-hearted individuals who have valuable contributions to offer.
I surround myself with humble individuals who have supported me in empowering me to solve my own problems. They inspire me to seek answers within myself and carefully select teachings that resonate with me and are beneficial, rejecting what is not.
There will always be individuals intrigued by spiritual topics and seeking alternative medicine. I believe it's important to acknowledge the presence of sensitive individuals, a group much larger than commonly perceived. If spiritual matters were less stigmatized and more embraced, perhaps establishing regulations around these practices could enhance safety for all participants.
