Healthy snacks

One of the major obstacles I encounter in striving for healthy eating is locating a nutritious snack between meals.

It becomes challenging for me when I'm feeling down or experiencing discomfort because I tend to feel sorry for myself and turn to something I enjoy but isn't nutritious, often containing ingredients like dairy and gluten that my body doesn't react well to.
Eating healthy between meals is not difficult if you plan ahead. I have realized that I tend to make unhealthy food choices when I shop while feeling unwell. Therefore, I need to ensure that I shop when I am well-rested and in a positive mood to make better decisions.
Therefore, the optimal day for me to do my shopping is Sunday, when I purchase items for the entire week. I focus on buying ingredients for a few meals and also make sure to stock up on the following essentials:
Bananas
Juice
Eggs
Nuts
Olives
Hard fish
Crackers with tuna salad
Avocado + lemon juice + salt
Fruits
Dark chocolate
If I don't handle it this way, I will opt for unhealthy choices or end up shopping for a single meal each time I go to the store, resulting in a chaotic start to the week. I dislike the daily task of deciding what to have for dinner, but if I shop for 2-3 meals on a Sunday, the week's meal planning is already well underway, accounting for leftovers, etc.
