I haven't been feeling well lately, so I've been contemplating ways to improve my well-being.

By seeking reasons for happiness, you can easily recognize the many positive aspects of your life that are right in front of you. These include your loved ones, your home, your professional growth, your mental and physical well-being, and the activities that bring you joy and allow you to indulge in good food and drinks or engage in fun experiences.

While this may seem promising, the issue lies in the fact that life is always evolving. Individuals may face job loss, health issues, or even the loss of loved ones. They might encounter financial challenges, restricting their spending to essentials and living with constant uncertainty. This highlights that true happiness cannot be derived from things that are susceptible to sudden loss.

When external circumstances cannot be relied upon, happiness must be found internally. Given my circumstances, this has been my experience over the last few months. I understand that I shouldn't depend on external changes to feel good; instead, I must cultivate a sense of well-being irrespective of the ups and downs in my life.

My feelings are influenced by my attitudes and thoughts. If I worry or speculate about the outcome, negative thoughts and fear can dominate. However, if I opt to believe that things will unfold positively, concentrate on the present moment, and appreciate what I already possess, I experience positivity. It is up to me to discipline myself in selecting my thoughts and favouring positive ones over negative ones.

Despite being conscious of the necessary actions, I often struggle to carry them out correctly. My present situation is tiring, especially when it comes to following my specific diet. The constant disruption caused by the roof replacement in our home is disheartening. I am filled with uncertainty about what lies ahead in the upcoming weeks and months, feeling disheartened that I cannot engage in activities that bring me joy due to my constant focus on saving as much as I can.

Although I wish my circumstances would improve, I understand that the most effective approach is to persist in daily meditation and self-improvement. My objective is to reach a state where I can manage my emotions regardless of external events. Interestingly, as I become more adept at transforming my mindset and outlook, the greater the chance that my external situation will align with my internal growth.

While it may not be easy to replace negative thoughts with positive ones, it is the only way to experience happiness. It is evident that happiness cannot be achieved through others or external situations. I need to start each day feeling content and happy, regardless of the uncertainties ahead. I am the only one who has the power to make myself feel good - I must be the source of my own happiness.
